Bio

Julie Williams is a versatile vocalist, whose sound derives from a diverse array of musical influences and experiences. Growing up in Tampa, Florida, Julie spent much of her youth immersed in music, performing at church and singing at professional sporting events, including several Tampa Bay Rays’ games. Realizing her love for the stage, Julie spent her high school years performing at restaurants, beach bars, weddings, and private parties as part of an acoustic duo and sought professional classical training. Now attending Duke University, Julie is an artist for Small Town Records and a vocalist for the Duke Jazz Ensemble. Her work is focused on developing her own unique style, a pop-country feel with inspiration from the music of her childhood - The Dixie Chicks, Ella Fitzgerald, James Taylor, and Michael Jackson - and other contemporary artists - Norah Jones, Colbie Caillat, and Maren Morris. Since joining Small Town Records, Julie has been hard at work in the studio and on stage, with performances in Florida, North Carolina, Alabama, and Nashville. Julie’s debut single Take Me Home was released in September 2017. In April 2018, she opened for Sweet Tea Trio at the Motorco Music Hall in Durham, NC.
